Experiences from news desks we have worked with
These are accounts from producers and editors about particular jobs. They describe what the work was like, in the writers' own terms.
A road closure was developing and we had no crew free. showbura had an operator on site within the hour, and the finished package came back captioned and in our house format. The producer on their side kept us informed throughout, so we never had to chase.
We booked a studio day for a run of interviews. Lighting and sound were sorted before our guests arrived, and the director kept each session to its slot. The recordings needed almost no correction, and our editors were glad of that at the end of a long week.
Our approval route had too many steps and clips were sitting in queues. They watched how we worked, suggested a simpler order and documented it clearly. Our team now follows the same process each day and files move more smoothly.
I asked for a short interview recorded on location with a remote link for the second guest. Picture and sound were clear, and it fitted our bulletin without any rework. The written confirmation matched what we were charged, which I appreciated.
