In more detail

Breaking News Video

This service is for news desks that need pictures from a developing story and cannot spare their own crew. A camera operator and an editor are assigned together, shoot on location and return a finished package that is ready to broadcast.

Breaking News Video
Crew on location
A lead camera operator travels to the scene with stabilised handheld kit and sound equipment. Shots are planned for cutting, so the editor receives usable sequences, not hours of loose footage.
Editing close to the scene
Footage is ingested and cut as soon as it comes in, with the editor working from the shot list. You can review a rough assembly early and ask for changes before the final version is made.
Captions and formatting
Packages are captioned and exported to the specification your channel gives us, whether that is a broadcast file or a clip prepared for online publication. Send us your technical requirements at the start.
Fair and accurate treatment
Facts are checked against what the crew saw, quotes are kept in context and sources are logged. If something cannot be confirmed, the package says so plainly instead of guessing.

Have the location, a contact on site, your delivery format and any editorial guidelines ready when you call, so the crew can leave without delay.

How it works

From first call to delivered file

Every job follows the same short path so that you always know who is doing what. Each stage is agreed in writing before work starts.

  1. Enquiry

You contact us through the contact page with the story, the format and the time you need the material. We reply with questions about location, access and any editorial requirements.

  2. Written confirmation

We send a written quotation or confirmation setting out the service, the crew, what is included and what could change the price. Work begins once you have agreed it.

  3. Shoot or studio session

The crew attends on location or in the studio. Helen Marsh oversees the schedule and keeps you informed if anything on the day alters the plan.

  4. Edit and review

The editor cuts, captions and formats the material, and you see a version to comment on. Corrections within the agreed scope are made before the final files are produced.

  5. Delivery and invoice

Finished files are delivered in the agreed format, followed by an invoice payable by bank transfer. Cancellations and refunds follow the payment and refund policy.

What clients say about the services

  • We needed pictures from a flooded road before the lunchtime bulletin. The crew was there quickly, the edit arrived captioned and in our format, and we had nothing to fix before it went on air.

Rachel OrmondOutput editor at a regional news desk
  • The studio session ran to time. The director handled lighting and sound without fuss, and the presenter support meant our guest was relaxed. We left with clean recordings for the whole week.

Martin KellProducer for an online news programme
  • Our approval steps had grown messy and clips were being exported twice. They mapped the workflow with us, removed the duplicated stages and wrote it all down so the team could follow it.

Sandra BeechHead of digital news at a local broadcaster
  • The remote interview was short, well lit and the sound was clear. It dropped straight into our bulletin, and the quotation we agreed beforehand matched the invoice exactly.
